Just Shala's Blog

Before I tell you about my new found battle with brain cancer, let me tell you a little about who I am! My name is Tyshala, but pretty much everyone I know calls me Shala, which is pronounced Shayla. I’m 23 years old, and I’m currently a senior studying merchandising in Texas. I absolutely hate writing about me sections, each time I start writing I go blank so  instead of writing a typical about me section I've listed 30 facts about myself! Enjoy!

 

30 Facts About Shala:

 

1. My family and my best friends are EVERYTHING to me

2. Jesus has become my backbone, if I’m fearful, confused or just need help I pray

3. I love to read, whether it’s fictional or fact, if I’m curious about something I usually look it up

4. I love pasta, chocolate(especially chocolate turtles), shrimp, sweet tea, & zebra cakes

5. My top two favorite books are The Five People You Meet in Heaven and Summer Sisters

6. I love action, comedy films; sappy romantic movies make me want to gag and scary movies…unless it’s PG13 you won’t catch me watching a scary movie

7. I love football and I’m a diehard Dallas Cowboys fan.

8. I secretly enjoy the stress of planning events like fashion shows, and marketing events because at the end of the day the results will be amazing

9. History is my favorite subject, there’s something about the past that entertains me

10. When most people meet me they think I’m shy or quiet; I’m neither.

11. I love the Sims; I still have the original Sims computer discs

12. Dark sodas are my weakness, especially Root Beer and Pepsi

13. My favorite color is purple, and teal (hence the blog design lol)

14. I enjoy drawing and painting, but it’s a rare occasion that I will actually draw or paint

15. I wanted to be a veterinarian when I was younger, but I then found out I  also had to put animals to sleep and my little ol' heart couldn't handle that

16. I’m a Taurus so that means I’m naturally stubborn and I’ll own that

17. My favorite animal is a Tiger

18.  You will never catch me barefoot…I always have on socks

19. I have many siblings so there’s never a dull moment

20. I secretly love the sore feeling after working out…

21. I have kept just about every birthday card that has been given to me

22. I also save my old birthday cake candles and balloons

23. I could be a pack rat?

24. My new favorite number is 23, I’ll explain why later in the blog

25. I can write with both hands but I prefer my right

26. I have an outie

27. My favorite dogs are pit bulls..but ALL dogs are awesome!

28. Every year my family takes Christmas pictures and I enjoy it

29. I work for the Data Communications department at my university and it’s awesome 

30. I love ancient Egyptian culture and mytholoy

 

So now that you know a little about me,  the purpose of this blog is to one, medically update family and friends and to give everyone some background information, bring awareness to brain cancer and it’s lack of funding and last but not least, to inspire anyone out there who may be scared and is looking for support.
